Christian Vasquez just walked off Hader in a 2-2 game in the bottom of the 9th.

Baseball is hard.  Have a short memory.

Im curious how Kimbrel compares to Felix at this point last year. I know Felix had the higher K/9. He also prob threw more innings and therefore had a higher WAR. Wouldnt be surprised if the ERA, WHIP,and save totals are very close

First half Felix had a 1.07 ERA, 0.92 WHIP, and a RIDICULOUS 84 Ks in 42 IP.

Kimbrel 2.10 ERA, 0.90 WHIP, 52 K in 34 IP.

Honestly, I didnt think Felix's ERA was that low so can you source your research. 😃

Kimbrel really is a worthy AS. Saying it the last week or so hasnt been a joke.

I'm surprised it was that high with a 2K per inning rate.

Clearly Felix was more dominant but Kimbrel is allowing less baserunners(barely) to this point. Great addition. I would expect him to slow dowm in the 2nd half but he has stabalized the pen this 1st half.

A tight back for two weeks early in the season away from looking like the steal of the offseason.

Kimbrel's savant page was still very good last year, even if he's not early Braves Kimbrel.

It's possibly he could've fallen flat, but with his track record, him being very good is still not very surprising.

Kimbrel was the first name I mentioned in the offseason. We obv had to replace Felix and I wanted a vet closer whos been there before. Hader was never realistic so it kinda came down to Kimbrel or Robertson.

On the whole, he’s been pretty great. Makes me feel like a boob for how hard I’ve been on him at times. And TBH, for whatever reason I still don’t feel all that comfortable when his number is called.

I think youd feel that way with anyone who isnt dominant like Felix. He really spoiled us.

Then again Kimbrel does have a history of completely imploding at times so I get it.

I didn't have much hope for him when he was signed but he has surpassed all my expectations and getting snubbed for the ASG is pretty awful.

Clay Holmes made it.  Kimbrel has been better.

IMO, too many Orioles got snubbed.

I'm glad he got snubbed.  He should go home and rest up for the second half.

I am not glad he got snubbed but your point certainly is valid.

Funny, a month ago most of us agreed he was an All-Star snub.

Does this mean he doesn't make the postseason roster?

Still time to figure it all out. Obviously the O's know he is really struggling right now. There is a reason he hasn't touched not only a save situation but a higher lev situation in a long time. Im hearing the DFA calls again, Aint gonna happen nor should it. If you're that concerned about the rostr spot find a mystery injury for him to work through. If he can regain the crispness and his stuff ticks back up he can still be an asset. We can find all the warts he has right now and thats fair but you cant deny that when he is right the stuff plays very well. 13 K/9 and 5.4 H/9 are excellent.
