• CBS Sports: SRS Distribution Las Vegas Bowl vs. USC (December 23rd; Las Vegas, NV)
• FOX Sports: Guaranteed Rate Bowl vs. West Virginia (December 26th; Phoenix, AZ)

Here's some projections which haven't been updated since last week:

• Action Network: Birmingham Bowl vs. South Alabama (December 23rd; Birmingham, AL)
• ESPN (Kyle Bonagura): SRS Distribution Las Vegas Bowl vs. Utah (December 23rd; Las Vegas, NV)
• ESPN (Mark Schlabach): SRS Distribution Las Vegas Bowl vs. UCLA (December 23rd; Las Vegas, NV)

ESPN has updated their bowl projections following yesterday's games. The only change is Mark Schlabach also projecting Maryland will face Utah (vice UCLA) in the SRS Distribution Las Vegas Bowl.

Heads up on a potential bowl opponent:

 

Utah QB Nate Johnson announced he'll be hitting the transfer portal. He was mostly the backup this season, but did play 138 snaps. Obviously Cam Rising won't play, so that pretty much leaves Bryson Barnes as the Utes' only QB with any meaningful snaps this season.

I expect  Caleb Williams sits it out though.

In addition to the SRS Distribution Las Vegas Bowl, I'm seeing a few people mention Maryland being selected for the TransPerfect Music City Bowl (December 30th; Nashville, TN). While significantly less likely, they'd probably face off against LSU or Texas A&M in that game.

Brett McMurphy (Action Network) has updated his bowl projections, and has Maryland facing off against Kansas in the Guaranteed Rate Bowl (December 26th; Phoenix, AZ).

 

The Athletic's updated projections has the same matchup.

As you can see, every projection except CBS Sports and USA Today have Maryland playing against Utah in Las Vegas.

Music City Bowl probably has a little more gravitas than the LV bowl. Would rather they get that against an SEC team.

It’s slotted one spot higher than Las Vegas, so would require two Big Ten teams earning New Year’s spots (Ohio State AND Penn State). Most projections see that as unlikely, which slots Maryland into the Vegas spot.

So, Ohio State and Penn State do both in fact get NY6 bowls. That could very well set Maryland up for a trip to Nashville.

Northwestern is officially headed to Las Vegas. That suggests Maryland will be going to Nashville. SEC opponent TBD.
