There is baseball, and occasionally there are other things of note
"Now OPS sucks. Got it."
"Making his own olive brine is peak Mackus."
"I'm too hungover to watch a loss." - McNulty

See Tim “ROCK” Raines!
We should be so lucky.

See Tim “ROCK” Raines!
More Kenny Lofton (better fielder and lesser hitter than Raines).

Maybe a Gary Pettis?

It feels like he has a very limited path to being a starting CF you'd feel good about.
Love the defense, and speed. That's a great start.
His projected doubles and triples are good too... but even then, he's got a .722 OPS as a college kid in High A., which is kind of hard to be excited about.
If you've got a great offensive team around him, then maybe it works?
I'm wondering if his current High A slash line is best case scenario for him at the ML level?
As far as Top 100 lists go... based off his current numbers, I'd be surprised.... but he's also a 1st round guy, from a great College program, who's now in an organization that's loved (with reason) by all the analysts... that will give him some boost.

I don't think he's ever going to be a guy that blows your socks off with statistics in the minors. He's got some super plus categories, DEF and SPEED. He's got some others he has to put some work in on.
Reminds me of an old school CF. Guy that was either 1st or 9th in the lineup, not a masher, won't win a batting title, but makes the most out of his opportunities and will be an absolute terror when he gets on base.

Another way of looking at it is if he had a better hitting profile, given his best in class speed and D in CF he would've been gone considerably earlier than 18 last year.

I can deal with the limited power if he was an on base machine, but a .347 OBP in Aberdeen as a college guy isn't exactly inspiring.
It’s still a 108 wRC+ in a league and park that favors pitchers. Makes Etzel even more impressive.

Aberdeen is High-A now, just a reminder. It's not short season. College guy early in his first full year will typically be there, so don't think it's a knock on Bradfield that he isn't to Bowie yet.

I think so often about Mateo and what he can bring to the club if he just gets on base enough. I think of Bradfield the same way. Be dynamic with speed and defense but you've got to hit/get on base enough. Hopefully, he can reach the minimum threshold needed to be a regular. Expecting more that that, even a Lofton like offensive profile, is probably asking for too much. Juan Pierre was mentioned and thats prob a pretty realistic profile offensively for which to aim .

Through 81 games in high A ball he posted a .708 OPS.
Since his promotion to AA, through 11 games he’s posted an .878 OPS (4 XBH in 44 AB).

Seems like every time he has a big game, he’ll then have 2 or 3 games where his numbers fall back down. It would be nice if he could string a nice streak together. He does seem to be making a lot of contact and showing better discipline since the promotion. A strong finish in AA puts him in the conversation for next year at some point.
