Lets start a winning streak.  Would be nice to see someone go on a heater offensively, been a little while since we had anyone really white hot. Hays the closest lately I think.

Gunnar cpuld be that guy vs righties. You just never let him pick up a bat vs lefties

I'm fine with protecting Gunnar versus lefties right now, especially since we have guys like Urias available for those matchups, but if you're saying ever then I think that's too premature.  He's not doomed to be a platoon bat.

Right now I dont want to think about him swinging a bat vs lefties. If its something he improves over time then great.

While I agree that I don't want to see him getting at bats against LH pitchers just how is he supposed to improve if he doesn't get those at bats?

Figure it out in the offseason. Or when he gets matched up with late in games. Hes still gonna see lefties. He just shouldnt start vs them nor do I want to envision him starting vs them right now.

Urias should play every game against a lefty starter. I'm fine with Gunnar sitting sometimes and Frazier sometimes, he is worse vs lefties too.

I'll expand on this a bit. The team, in general, isnt very good against LH starters.

Not sure after yesterday but going into yesterday their wRC+ against lefties was above 100 and I think a decent amount above 100. Like maybe 110. Im guessing on the exact number. I saw it retweeted by Phelan on twitter because everyone was saying they suck vs lefties

113.

They have a 766 OPS vs lefties which is 11th in MLB. 728 vs righties which is 15th.

I'll expand on this a bit. The team, in general, isnt very good against LH starters.

MLB as a whole has a 750 OPS vs LH SP.  That's a 256/327/422 slash line.

The Orioles have a 764 OPS vs LH SP.  That's a 253/327/436 slash line.

So...I guess you can wiggle out and say that they aren't "very good" because they are less than what we'd consider to be very good.  Merely average. But I don't think that's what you meant.  I think you meant they stink or at least are below average against LHP, and that's not true.

Wasn't looking at any data just my eye balls watching every game. Just seems like we aren't that good against LH but perhaps the numbers are better than the eye test.

But it you want to talk semantics then not very good means less than very good. Very good is better than average so not very good means average or less. If I wanted to say they stink I'd just say they stink....lol

For my money, it should be Adley but since Hyde makes the lineup, my guess is it will be Hays or McKenna.

My eyes agreed with yours but our eyes deceived us. Vs RHP, we're slashing .246/.318/.411 and Vs LHP we're slashing .255/.336/.430.

We'll see but I can't imagine Hays in CF every day is the long term plan till Mullins comes back. A game here and there is ok. McKenna vs LHP is probably fine. Again it's really too bad Cowser is hurt right now for (I think) the first time as a pro.
