I just can't stand Hyde any longer. You can't pinch hit for McCann??????

I'm assuming Santander is dinged up because there's no logical reason to not have him pinch hit.

Ugh. Salvage a win in the series. Don't let things snowball.

Are they still carrying a third catcher? At any rate, this is why you don’t run into outs.
They haven't carried a third catcher for weeks. The catcher that they acquired from the Cubs (Torrens) was ourighted to Norfolk the same week he was acquired. Varva is the "emergency catcher". He caught some bullpen sessons during his last stint at Norfolk. He's only going to catch if there is an in game injury.

I already said Givens is as low as low leverage gets right now. Talk about track record all you want if it makes you feel better. He looks like a guy thats closer to being released than being a valuable member of the BP
Givens sucks. Rather have Logan Gillaspie out there.

Maybe the luckiest SP in baseball. Its always cute seeing all the little snide remarks about Kremer not being one of the worst 5 SPs in baseball but for SPs that qualify hes got the 4th worst xBA, 6th worst xSlg and 4th worst xERA. This all after his relatively decent run that has dropped his actual ERA down to a fairly respectable 4.50. Just watch the guy pitch and you understand why the expected numbers are so bad. If anyone wants to bet that he will continue to oupitch the horrible expected good luck with that decision
Kremer settling in as one of the better starters. You can usually rely on decent to good outings from Gibson, Wells, Kremer, and Bradish.

Yeah but he's better than GRod and who else are we going to put out there? This is all on the FO for not doing their job last winter.

5 starts in May. 3-1, 2.45 era. 29.1 innings, 30 hits, 2 homers, 8 bb's, 23 k's.
More than a hit per ip, number of walks, and less than a k per ip... so agree, there are reasons to think a 2.45 era stretch isn't sustainable... but he's cut the homers allowed in May, and he usually gives you an opportunity.
He's clearly not one of the five worst sp in baseball. He's a usable ML starter, and that has value.
