I think Santander getting some run at 1st base is absolutely a prelude to Cowser getting the call up once he's over this quad strain.
It wasn't mentioned in the blog but I think Westburg is close as well. O'Hearn can get optioned for Cowser and Vavra could get optioned for Westburg. God bless Adam Frazier, he seems like a good dude but he's not an everyday player. He can be moved to a utility role and Westburg can get regular PT at 2nd base.
Regarding Irvin, I think he sticks in the majors for one role or another. When Givens gets activated, I think Baumann will go down. I disagree that Irvin will move back into the rotation for Rodriguez. Grayson has to figure out how to get major leaguers and that's not going to happen at Norfolk.

I have a slightly different take on GRrod getting sent down. To me he has two issues. One that won't get fixed at AAA and that is how to get ML hitters out. But the other thing is his command especially how he keeps missing way high. Perhaps, and its just a guess on my part, he has some mechanical issue that would be better worked on at AAA?
