Nothing against the St. Louis Browns, but I'll stick with 7 Orioles for the Cycle versus 12 in Franchise history, I get it, I don't care.  Seven.

Orioles
• Cedric Mullins, May 12, 2023 Full story >
• Austin Hays, June 22, 2022 Full story >
• Jonathan Villar, Aug. 5, 2019 Watch >
• Felix Pie, Aug. 14, 2009 Watch >
• Aubrey Huff, June 29, 2007 Watch >
• Cal Ripken Jr., May 6, 1984
• Brooks Robinson, May 15, 1960

-------------
• George McQuinn, July 19, 1941
• Ski Melillo, May 23, 1929
• Baby Doll Jacobson, April 17, 1924
• George Sisler, Aug. 13, 1921
• George Sisler, Aug. 8, 1920

A cycle is a historical feat.  Brooks and Cal are obviously historical Os....you have 3 guys in the middle there with modest Oriole profiles...we'll see where Hays and Mullins wind up.

Thanks for posting this Dude. And I am with you. The Orioles started April 13, 1954. Anything before that is irrelevant to me.

Sorry I'm not familiar with the name between Ripken and Pie, can't seem to recall him ever being an Oriole

My dad was there last night with my 92-year old grandmother, who's been a massive fan from the moment they came to Baltimore in 1954. Love that she was able to witness another piece of history in person.

Was at the Huff game. Crazy how that was only the 3rd one in 53 years. Has happened 3 times in the last 4 years.

3 over 53 years seems like a really low number for cycles though. They arent that uncommon.

Also pretty sure the Pie on was a home game which makes the last 5 all at OPACY. Dont know if Brooks and Cal did it at home or on the road.

Here's the full article from mlb.com

Since  Brooks had "the Orioles" first cycle in 1960, the Yankees only have 3 cycles.

Ced's cycle was really interesting.  Someone can pull up the exit velo's, but they were all ripped.

After flying out to CF in his first AB.

2nd AB: Single on fastball up, lined to RF.

3rd AB: Triple on curve down and away, hammered up right-center gap.  A competitive triple, not misplayed/in standing.

4th AB: Double on fastball down and in, lined down the RF-line.

5th AB: HR on changeup away, big-fly down RF-line in a big situation to extend a one-run lead.

Nothing left to throw last night...maybe they should try middle of the plate.

They arent that uncommon.

Would you say no-hitters "aren't that uncommon"?

I don't recall Villar doing it, that's weird considering it was so recent.

Odd that as good as they were during the 60's, 70's and early 80s they only did it twice in that period.\

The Yankees only having 3 players with cycles is crazy too.

I never had friends later on like the ones I had when I was twelve. Jesus, does anyone?

Orioles have 3 of the last 13 Cycles in MLB.  Rebuilding makes you hit for the Cycle!!

"Since 1960"  ....the first half of the Century is filled with them.  Stadiums probably had more to do with getting the triple back then.

YS II & YS III are notoriously difficult ballparks to hit triples. Essentially when they brought the LCF/CF walls in before the '76 season.

So was OPACY before the redesign.

That and having only one umpire. Guys would cut second base by yards if the umpire's back was turned. The old National League Orioles were famous (or infamous depending on your point of view) for such tactics.
