That would expose Perez to waivers, which would be risky since there's no guarantee Tate and Gives will be on point when they return from the injured list. Or if Cano comes back to earth somewhat. Still, if they keep him on the roster, it's going to be more difficult to hide him if things don't turn around.
Tate isn't ready yet. Needs at least another week. First things first swap out Akin for Givens and see how things look when the time comes.
