I'm stoked to see what Len brings to the table this year more than any other player. They say Cleare is like a stronger Lonny Baxter. Our inside game should be a strength once again.

Interesting article and quite the contrast between Knoche and Norlander. Knoche is very optimistic and reading Norlander reminds me of Mike Preston...which is head to the downside of each player.

I am sure the results will be somewhere in the middle of the two views.

A friend, who attended MM and the subsequent scrimmage told me that Aronhalt will remind me of Greg Manning, and we should be so lucky. He also said Allen seems a lot better than he thought. Very fast!!

I am anxious to see Len mix in with Cleare and Mitchell.
If they can be effective out of the low post, Len can face up some. I worry about playing them together on D as many ACC teams go small and use a 3-4 type guy at the 4. That would cause matchup problems on the D end.

Their views did differ a bit, but I think it alternated between the two of who was most optimistic.

I think both players will help. A pure shooter like Aronhalt can always help a roster. Very enthusiastic about what we are hearing about Allen. Especially the willingness to play defense.

If teams go small against the Terps, Layman will probably get time at 4, especially if Wells does become available.

I hate seeing comparisons to Baxter, because they almost always lack the biggest asset that Lonny had: hands. Jordan Williams had really good hands, the best I've seen at Maryland since Lonny, but he still wasn't nearly as god as Lonny was. He would catch every pass thrown into him in the post and get the ball into a great position to score. It was amazing. It certainly helped having Stokes, Francis, and Blake throwing him the ball for his whole career, but he had hands that I haven't seen since.

I'm really confident about Cleare, but I'd be shocked if his hands were even as good as Jordan's, yet alone Lonny's.

I am really excited to see what an interior rotation of Len, Padgett, Cleare and Mitchell can do. That's a lot of depth, and much of it should be really good.

After reading the article again, I got the feeling Knoche probably has a better feel for the current team. he has to see them more.

Layman will play some 4 but if I am reading Turgeon correctly I think he invisions a big physical team and then it becomes can teams match up when we go big and can we keep dual bigs on the court when the opposition goes small.
That is what makes CB the great game that is is. Different philosphies and looks.
