Per a tweet from Fran Fraschilla, it sounds like Billy Hahn, a longtime assistant under Gary and a Terp alum, is not doing very well right now health-wise.

Sorry to hear that.  I met Billy a few times at some basketball camps.  He is a good guy and is very good at teaching the game.  He is an intense guy,

Greg Manning, Jr. has been promoted to assistant coach, filling the vacancy left by Grant Billmeier. David Cox has been promoted to associate head coach.

Tevon Saddler has been named as the new head coach at Nicholls State. He's the third member of Willard's staff to leave for a Division I head coaching job. Only Nate Oats at Alabama has had as many assistants leave for similar jobs during this cycle.

Clearly Willard surrounded himself with good people.

It also bodes well for the caliber of coaches who will want to come on to replace them, seeing that it could be a fast-track to their own head job opportunity.

As was previously reported, Maryland will embark on a Summer Training Tour in Italy this summer. They'll depart on July 31 and return on August 10, playing three exhibition games during their ten-day trip which will span Rome, Florence, Venice, and Lake Como.

Nice, I would imagine that helps with recruiting too.

Former New Mexico State F Mady Traore has committed to Maryland, filling the hole left by Ian Martinez. He’s 6’11” and has three years of eligibility remaining. Originally from France, he attended high school in Cumberland, MD and was a 3-star recruit out of high school.

Wonder if he was one of the guys caught up in the ugly mess down there last season. He didn't get much court time, so doesn't look like a guy they ought to count on for much. Maybe getting away from that toxic environment will help him.

Definitely a raw prospect. They’ll be betting that at least one of Pierce, Swanson-Rodger, or Traore can step up and provide depth behind Reese.

I was hoping for a more accomplished center type.

I guess they are hoping CSR, Pierce and Traore can give them depth.

Jon Rothstein attended one of Maryland’s practices earlier this week. Had very high praise for Geronimo, Harris-Smith, and Kaiser.

His projected rotation: Young, Harris-Smith, Kaiser, Scott, Reese (Batchelor, Geronimo, Long, Traore).
