Theyve now gained a year of service time with GRod. They arent waiting til Sept to call up Cowser. Especially since he was a college guy. They would control him through his 29 yr old season and it really would be making him wait through the first 2 or 3 weeks of next year. The whole keeping his rookie status is more of the claim you could make. Like Gunnar last year. Just dont think thats gonna happen either. That would be late Aug or into Sept.

2-2, 2b, HR, BB today. I said it may take a week of ABs but at this point. Like he was never out of the lineup. They arent going to ship him to Milwaukee but this lineup could use the bat when they get back into BMore

There's literally no reason to keep Cowser down for service time reasons. Team is competitive now and the offense is floundering with Mullins injured.

I doubt it's service time.  It's rookie status, the consequences to the rankings and the opportunity to get a pick with a top 2 RoY finish.

 

I doubt Cowser is an answer to the offensive woes.  Orioles only have 4 HR in last 9 games (probably deserves it's own 'Power Outage' thread).  Outside of a 7-run outburst and knocking Bieber around, it's been 3 or less. 

 

While I'm not much of a believer in Hicks, he's hit the ground running.  Hard contact, solid defense.  O'Hearn has earned some opportunity lately.

Cowser probably has the best on base skill in the entire system. Westburg, Cowser, and Ortiz have nothing left to prove in AAA.

I'm all for those guys starting to get added into the mix in Baltimore with some creative roster moves.

Also funny the "Im not a big believer in Hicks" take. He took like a 1000 word dump on the acquistion and told us how he would have done better in his ootp sim. Bit more than simply "not a big believer".

Granted Haskin was out for a longer amount of time but its interesting they started his rehab assignmemt at a lower level. Working his way back to AAA. With Cowser they just put him right back in the AAA lineup. Maybe an indication that they are fast tracking him to Baltimore.
