No he really didn't.
Yeah, not many outside of NY really cared. It wasn't nearly McGwire/Sosa of 1998 or even Bonds of 2001.

Bonds also has the MLB walks in a season record too so maybe the media will make a big deal if someone breaks the AL record too.
