Looking forward to the season.  Playing with expectations is different than playing without them and that's the best thing the 12-16 teams did...play everyday like they were going to win.  It's a long season, but you want to get off to a good start and we have a good schedule to do that.

 

I like the matchups in Boston, but that means nothing if you don't get it done on the field. 

Throw strikes.  Play defense. Score runs. Close out games.

From what I've heard going back to the Astros regime, I'd guess that Hyde is not the final decision maker on the lineup.

I think roster decisions and lineup construction the FO probably has a hand in that. I dont think the FO is calling in the lineup daily

And further to that point I think Hyde is exactly the final decision maker on a lineup. No doubt there are discussions. Ultimately Hydes makes the final call 90% of the time on who plays each day . Acting like the manager has no power is just off

Most of the time Elias is probably good with it, but opening day or when people get called up, I'm guessing Elias has the final call.

It's a relief to see Melanie Newman on the pre game show because that means she won't be doing play by play. That might be a "never say" but she's absolutely dreadful on play by play.

On The Verge did a predictions show and one of them was relentless criticism of Hyde’s lineups and decisions now that there’s pressure and based on how he did down the stretch last year.

That didn’t take long.

They also could’ve predicted TwentyThirtyFive defending all of the criticism, and they’d be 2/2 right out of the gate.

Brown & Palmer is such a great booth.  Love McDonald as well, the few games late last year when all three were in there were terrific.  Would've been cool to see that again for Opening Day.

Only complaint with the lineup is I'd rather have Urias at 2B, Gunnar at 3B, and Stowers in the lineup.
