They had to pay for that massive contract they handed out to Adam Frazier somehow.
Seriously, I don't care that much. I am surprised the Orioles have not sold the name years ago.
Sell the name and sign the damn extension.

Not even a little bit. Someone savage enough to move a team like this wouldn’t be savage enough to get a sponsor on false pretenses?

I'm not one of those people, but I don't see the connection. Its not like they can move the field.

Connection is that it's likely to be a decade long deal.
Some people are worried about the O's leaving in a year.
Yes, in theory the O's could sign a decade long sponsorship, and leave a year later, breaking the deal.... but another interpretation would be they are looking for an extended sponsorship deal, because they are going to be here.

Maybe some, but it amazes me that there is this big pile of money at the Orioles doorstep, and they are dragging their feet. I won't feel good about it, until they sign the new lease.

I don't want the Orioles to play at D.C. Ameritrade park at Camden Yards or whatever it will be. This was one of the few things the team ever did right.

I'm far less worried about the prospect of the team being moved, than I am about the prospect of the team remaining under the ownership of anyone named Angelos... first name Peter, John, Lou, or Georgia... or any other first name either...
