If one of Young, Stroud, Levis or Richardson are worth that much of a haul, why wouldn’t Lamar be? Granted, rookie contracts certainly provide significant surplus value, especially at the QB position. So I guess that really would be a major factor, still. You just have to do better than merely 2 firsts for Lamar.

He might be indeed be worth that much to someone else, except he's also looking for fully-guaranteed money.

Yeah I do think a collective line in the sand has been drawn there. It’ll be interesting to see what offers do come in on him. At this point I’d be genuinely surprised if any of them are fully guaranteed.

Anyway, yes that is a big factor, they still have to do better than 2 firsts.

Jimmy G to LV for 3/67.5, 34 million guaranteed.

It's really odd. Weren't some people around here saying that he would get almost as much (80%) as Lamar?

The Browns have once again restructured DeShaun Watson's contract for 2023, which lowers his cap hit this year to $19.25. However, for 2024 thru 2026, that number zooms to $63.96 million. Yikes.

Oh, and they also added a void year.

Guess they're going for it this year. You can only kick that can down the road so far.

Waller heading to the Giants. LV sure is having an odd offseason.

Ita just weird, right? Sign a brand new QB who is used to having a stud TE to throw to, and they trade theirs away? How often does a team shed weapons for their new QB?

What was funny was I saw Waller just got married to a player for the LV Aces. Guess when they said at the ceremony "speak now or forever hold your peace," that's when Josh McDaniels picked up the phone and called the Giants.

Aaron Rodgers says it's his "intent" to play for the Jets next season, whatever that means.

It probably means that he wants to wait until the Packers and Jets consummate a trade before he says anything more than that. But I imagine the teams have mostly, if not fully, agreed to terms already.

I wouldn't believe a word he says, but I'm not surprised that he's still whining about the Packers and especially 3 years ago when they drafted Jordan Love.

This may drag on a bit. Is GB now looking for 2 1st rd picks .? Also the Jets still have to give Rodgers a new contract.

Don't think Rodgers would insist on a new contract.  Maybe, he's got some leverage so he can certainly ask for it, but his current contract is only a year old and the biggest guaranteed money hurdle is the pending roster bonus which would be picked up after the the trade and guarantee him another $50M or so.

It also would only have a modest cap number for 2023, so the Jets wouldn't need to redo anything for their own cap purposes.

Rodgers wants to load up the Jets with weapons from his old team. That same old team that we kept hearing. . .lacked weapons.

Green Bay has zero leverage in all of this because their options are limited. They're either going to trade Rodgers or he stays in Green Bay. They can't cut him because the dead money would be a crippler.
