I guess I'm in the minority, but I'd definitely bring Leftwich in for an interview. He ran a strong passing attack in Tampa and got unjustly fired imo. They were an excellent offense until their line got decimated and Brady got old. Not saying he'd be a slam dunk, but considering the recent success and his feel for the passing game I can't imagine it being a waste of time to give him an opportunity to try for it.

Leftwich is on top of my list since I think Reich will get a HC job.

Internal candidates:

TE Coach George Godsey

One of the better units on this team. 12 years in the NFL. Held OC positions twice. 2015-16 with Houston and 2021 was Co-OC in Miami. Did his playing as a QB for Georgia Tech from 1997-2001 with one Ralph Friedgen as his OC until 2001. Other than being on staff for this, his first season, no ties to Harbaugh otherwise.

QB Coach James Urban

Has been the QB Coach here as long as Lamar Jackson has been here. 18 years total in the NFL. Worked on the same staff as Harbaugh for four years in Philly.

External candidates:

Matt Weiss, Co-Offensive Coordinator, Michigan

Under investigation for "computer access crimes". We'll see what level of severity that ends up being. if nothing, Weiss Had spent 11 years on the Ravens staff in a variety of roles, including assistant QBs coach, assistant WRs coach, and RBs coach. Was a GA for Jim at Stanford for two seasons. His offense is based on a power run game that sets up play action passes.

Jay Harbaugh, Special Team Coordinator, Michigan

John's nephew. Was on the Ravens staff as offensive quality control from 2012-2014. At Michigan has also worked with running backs and tight ends form 2015-2021. Safeties in addition to STs in 2022.

Zac Robinson, QB Coach/Pass game coordinator, LA Rams

Young coach, running the ball is integral but modern passing concepts led the Rams to a SB, and historic seasons by Cooper Kupp. Former Pro Football Focus Analyst plays well in Harbaugh's forward thinking side.

Nathaniel Hackett, Former Head Coach, Denver Broncos

Didn't make it through one season as a head coach, but has led prolific rushing offenses at his stops as an OC over the years.

Who else?

If I had to rank these in order of most likely to least likely...

1. Urban

2. Hackett

3. Someone Not listed

4. Robinson

5. Godsey

6. Weiss

7. Jay

I think Urban is the favorite as an internal guy, knows the offense, must have a good relationship with Lamar to be here throughout his tenure so far. Lamar may have some input here.

Hacket based on resume, success in the running game, and probably not gaining HC status again.

I'm intrigued by Robinson the more I read. But a young up and comer has never been on the Harbaugh radar until maybe McDonald who is only 35. Everyone else has never been a threat to unseat Harbaugh if Bisciotti were to ever pull that trigger. Also, seems like the sexy candidate who always end on up on the Jets or Lions and then sucks.

I'd guess internally Urban would be offered the job before Godsey. Seniority, tenure. Urban probably doesn't turn down a promotion.

Weiss has just been fired, so the investigation had to turn up something bad. We don't know what. "Fraudulent activity". Is he a hacker? Did he look up something school policies don't allow you to look up on public computers, like porn? Was he shopping on the dark web?

This could either be a stupid, but forgivable offense. If he looked up some regular old normal adults consenting porn while working late one night, it's stupid, but I could get past it.  Or it could be a dark, criminal, lock you up in prison kind of thing, that you don't look past at all.

Jay Harbaugh was kind of listed just for fun. But, some guys do put their kids (nephews) in these positions, qualified or not.

That's fine. I'm good with someone with zero ties to "The Family"

Careful there, Fredo.

They arent stepping way outside the box or out of their lane. Some of these guys make no sense. Urban is likely the fav. We will see if Bischotti has any say.

That's at least encouraging as far as who they're willing to consider.

Wonder if Tee Martin's an option. He's already in the building, so that'd seem to be a plus for him. Only NFL coaching experience is here, though; has much more collegiately. Spent 3 years as Southern Cal's OC, including the '16-'17 Rose Bowl team. Young-ish at 44.

Lost his play calling duties, if I recall, at USC.

Really hope we don’t go in house!

If Harbs has his way, that's how it will go down.  I'm pretty certain he didn't want Kubiak because of his desire to be a HC again and maybe felt a little threatened by him.  I doubt he lost much sleep over him being the OC for only one year.

Would love Reich but expect him to be a.HC. I would absolutely interview people from the Shannahan and McVey trees!

BTW, tried listening to the 2-6 group on the Fan…OMG are they so slanted negatively against the Ravens. JLC clearly has an anti-Ravens agenda and his useless co-host KW has bought into it hook, line and sinker. Unlistenable!

Yeah, Weinman has been terrible lately. For whatever reason, he was dogging the Hamilton pick before the week 18 game, saying he was a borderline bust since he couldn't beat out Clark for the starting job. Just say you don't understand football and move on. Absolutely terrible.

Media in general is dogging the Ravens because of the Lamar situation. It's all meant to drum up the narrative that the Ravens FO is clueless in preparation for a Lamar divorce so they can beat it to death if he's traded or tagged without an extension.

He's not a typical Harbaugh connection choice. I think it's encouraging they're considering a wider candidate pool. Feel free to enlighten me on who they should be interviewing. I already posted yesterday in another thread that Reich, Brian Johnson, and Slowik are among the three candidates that interest me most.

It's hands down the worst 4 hour show in the history of Baltimore sports talk radio. I stopped listening at all. If I accidentally turn it on out of habit it goes right off as soon as one of their voices comes out. Unlistenable sums it up perfectly.

10 to 2 is my busiest time of the work day, so I tend to listen to Haynie's show from 2 to 6...

Mary Kay Cabot says the Ravens requested to interview Browns WR coach and passing game coordinator Chad O'Shea. He also interviewed with the Jets. Was Dolphins OC in 2019, and they were not good.

That’s an odd request. It’s not like the Browns have developed any good home grown WR.

Last one I can think of was Josh Gordon, pre-meltdown(s).

Per Jeremy Fowler, requested interview with Seahawks QB coach Dave Canales.

Everyone they’ve shown interest in is a passing game person.
