Losers of their last three conference games, Maryland will host #24 Ohio State in College Park on Sunday afternoon. The Buckeyes currently hold a 10-4 (2-1) record, with their only conference loss coming by two points on Thursday night to Purdue. Head coach Chris Holtmann's squad looks very different from last year's, with 11 players who either graduated or transferred. He added four upperclassmen through the transfer portal and five blue-chip freshmen to this season's roster. The bench also looks different, with two new assistants taking the places of Ryan Pedon (now Illinois State's head coach) and Tony Skinn (now an assistant coach at Maryland).
After facing the Big Ten's best defense on Thursday night in Rutgers, the Terps will face the conference's best offense on Sunday. The Buckeyes are led by freshman forward Brice Sensabaugh, who's averaging 16 points and 5 rebounds per game. He's averaging 20 points over their last five games, and is shooting 59% from the field over that stretch. Upperclassmen forwards Justice Sueing and Zed Key, and freshman guard Bruce Thornton are also averaging double-digit scoring. In some good news for Maryland, Ohio State isn't a very large team. At 6'8", 255 lbs., Key is their biggest starter. Freshman center Felix Okpara is 6'11", but has only played 14 minutes per game. He received 31 minutes against Zach Edey and Purdue, but they clearly prefer to play small when possible.
