Gibson is under contract for 2023 only and it would be easy to shift him to the bullpen if need be, poor performance from him and/or a better SP option arises. MadBum has three years left and would be much harder to remove from the rotation if and when that needed to be done.

When you look at Kyle Gibson's Baseball Savant page....do you think it's any better? Almost the whole thing is blue for his whole career. I'm not beating him up, it is what it is.

How is MadBum toast, but Gibson (who is older) is not toast.

Again, if they see something in him they like, awesome, they can own that, but they never fix better players.

I don't think anyone was over the moon with the Gibson signing. Most of us thought they should have done better by a significant margin.

That he and Bumgarner are pretty comparable in recent years (actually generous to MadBum) does not help your argument. It makes it much worse in fact considering you weren't arguing for him over Gibson, you're arguing for him over Kremer, a soon to be 27 year old cheap pitcher with club control coming off a year Bumgarner hasn't surpassed since 2017 on a per inning basis.

No to Bumgardner. Hell no, actually.

I never had friends later on like the ones I had when I was twelve. Jesus, does anyone?
