There is baseball, and occasionally there are other things of note
"Now OPS sucks. Got it."
"Making his own olive brine is peak Mackus."
"I'm too hungover to watch a loss." - McNulty

Carry some momentum over into next season with that big transfer class.
I still question how high Maryland's ceiling can be, but Locks is making progress. Two winning seasons and Bowl wins is a start.

Most years, this is probably about their ceiling. They should have beaten Purdue to make it 9 wins, but that happens. They competed well against Michigan and Ohio State this year, two of the four playoff teams. I'll take that.
Still, they sleep-walked through the Wisconsin and Penn State games. Can't have that. Still too many unforced penalties too. There's room for improvement, but if they consistently finish in the 7-9 win range, then they are punching at their weight class.

8-9 wins and a bowl game is probably peak Maryland performance. Could sneak into the top 25 by end of year. Would be nice to see an upset win over an Ohio State, Michigan, Wisconsin, Penn State (when they're good) from time to time.
Right, I think that's an appropriate ceiling. What you hope to do (and what Locksley has started to accomplish) is raise the floor to 5-6 wins as opposed to 2-3. Even Friedgen wasn't able to avoid some really bad years, so it won't be easy but this is a great way to start.

One final note on the game. Maryland didn't allow a single touchdown in each of their last two games of the year. For a team that had struggled defensively for years, Brian Stewart did a tremendous job this season. The defense is a major reason they were able to compete in games against Michigan and Ohio State, and was the primary reason they won this one today.
After being spurned by Kevin Steele before the year started, the defense showed out all year under Stewart and look to be in great shape moving forward.

I though they canned Stewart and Brian Williams took over? Did I imagine that part?

If nothing else, MD is getting some nice Twitter love thanks to Locksley taking the mayo bath. No such thing as bad publicity.
