it could, but maybe you sign a FA and use that depth to trade off for other pieces/holes.

"Lower your expectations."
Sounds like Roch is doing that for us.
Good news! I saw a dog today.

One step at a time.
The reality today is the second tier market doesn't really move the needle given what we already have.
Who is the second tier OFer that you care about more than internal options? Are you going to block Cowser's September debut?
We do have Daz Cameron and Jake Cave, so there's that.

Lol because hearing him say we will be super aggressive at the 2nd tier of SP is such substandard expectations.
Just to clarify, I was referring to his comments about why the O's don't need to sign one of the top FA shortstops.

He was trying to throw shade at me.
The funny part is, his next comment is actually correct (he was going for sarcasm) but maybe the funnier part is these are the types of guys that they could have been signing in previous years to create some modest opportunities while they worked on development, etc.
...these guys weren't good enough to help then, but now that we've wasted 4 seasons these guys are suddenly the answer? Awesome.

With this ownership group, spending less is always the right answer. So I'm confident they didn't put up an argument when Elias said he wanted to strip things down to the studs.

which was the correct answer at the time, but they have very slow to rebuild.
