Some interesting names here.   The On the Verge team got me thinking about Corbin Burns yesterday.  He might be the perfect fit for the Orioles rotation.  A power right hander, who has already won the CY award.

If I had a choice, I would prefer a left hander but a guy as good as Burns works for me.

Mullins was the name mentioned, and I am a huge Mullins fan, but you have to give something to get something.

I also liked the idea of Jesse Winker, but after reading this, I think I pass.  He sounds lazy.

My target would still be Woodruff.  Given his age and service, I think he'd be the most likely guy (of the 4 better guys) to do an extension.

Players like Bieber and Burnes likely have some aspirations that won't include Baltimore as a realistic option.  Their status is a tick up and they'll be looking for that 30+M AAV type contract.  If you trade for JB or CB, you are only getting the 2 years, which is fine, but you are still over-paying to just get those 2 years.

A little surprised they are shopping Lopez as actively as they appear.  Ng has to be on the hot-seat a little and they've already broken "Project Wolverine" and had Jeter bail.  There's likely MLB interest in seeing Ng not be bad so I'd think they'll just throw money at Correa or something and try to get things on a better track.

Back to Woodruff....I think I mentioned this before, but Sean Murphy is a good fit for the Brewers from the A's.  Ramon Urias just won a GG, the Brewers need a 3B and his brother Luis plays for the Brewers.  The Crew needs to shuffle some things around with ARB, etc.  Surprised they picked up Wong.  That seemed dumb given their challenges.

More to it that this, but some basics could look like

BAL gets Woodruff

MIL gets Kremer, Urias, Murphy, +, +, +

OAK gets Turang, Stowers, +, +

Woodruff should be around the 11M Lyles was getting and the Luis Castillo contract (why didn't we just trade for him last year?) is a good framework for the first 2 FA years of a Woodruff 4+ contract.

Then you sign Manaea to something like Lyles signed last year (maybe 7M in 2023) and you have...

Woodruff

Manaea (Means)

GRod

Bradish

Voth (tandem with Hall)

Wells to high leverage bullpen role.
