I am sad he was cut but I actually believe it had nothing to do with his sexual orientation. Hopefully a different 4-3 defense team picks him up like the Cowboys who could use all the defensive help they can get.

I tend to agree with you -- I understand why him being cut is a story, but in a few years, hopefully it's not.

Rams owner announces plans to build stadium in LA.

I guess it was only a matter of time.

I never had friends later on like the ones I had when I was twelve. Jesus, does anyone?

Why don't they play in the Coliseum?

You mean temporarily or permanently?

Is the plan for them to play in the Coliseum until the new stadium is built?

Or the Rose Bowl. Which is probably better-equipped to host an NFL franchise (or two) than the Coliseum.

I think maybe the Rose Bowl.

How miserable will next year be for St. Louis fans (and the players, organization as a whole)... if they know the entire season that they will be moved to LA?

If the Owner is going to announce now he is going to build in LA, the NFL should have been more open to allowing the move for '15.

I have a feeling that this is probably the "last gasp" slap to St. Louis to try and get a favorable deal. Or at least cover for saying, "We gave them every opportunity and warning," before moving.

Plus, even if he does get the deal he wants to prevent a move, Kroenke could end up the landlord for an LA team, since this might be the best possible deal to get a stadium in place, Rams or no.

Permanently... or the Rose Bowl...

My real question is: why is it worth it to build a whole stadium if there's already one available?

If you're just talking in terms of monetary cost, it likely isn't "worth" it. However, they aren't getting a team without a new stadium. And even considering the possibility of extensive renovations, it would be difficult to rebuild either stadium--both built in the early 1920s--to what an NFL team (and the league, of course, since they will have a say) would consider an appropriate level.

The Rose Bowl is probably the best site in terms of amenities, because it hosts the most individually-important bowl game--now often a championship game--and this has at least some corporate stuff like boxes. But the Coliseum is very centrally-located.

Either way, though, it would be a temporary site.

Why did the Orioles move out of Memorial Stadium?

Why did the Orioles move out of Memorial Stadium?

Not so the owner could spend a billion bucks of his own money on a stadium...

Why did the Orioles move out of Memorial Stadium?

And why did Baltimore need to have M&T Bank Stadium essentially ready for construction before the Browns officially agreed to a move?

It's part of the deal.

LA has shown time and time again that they won't pay for new stadium. That ship has sailed.

The Kroenke plan is a whole redevelopment scheme for the old Hollywood Park racetrack site by the Forum. So that's likely where he expects to make his money back.

Sports On Earth: St. Louis Set Up For Raw Deal, Again

Neil deMause, purveyor of the indispensible website Field of Schemes and occasional contributor to Sports On Earth and Vice Sports, has a term for the St. Louis Rams' current deal with the city of St. Louis at the Edward Jones Dome. He calls it "the worst lease ever."

Kroenke may move the Rams without official league approval: http://profootballta...-not-need-them/

There's no way in HELL the NFL has a team in LA with a brand-new stadium and doesn't allow them to host a Super Bowl. That might be the league's true jump-the-shark moment.

Let me just say I love that Stan Kroenke looks like an extra from the Beastie Boys' "Sabotage" video.
