There’s a certain mental hurdle to overcome in order to compete in a conference like this. They feared them because they are Wisconsin and it’s in Madison. Not based on merit. Based on tradition.

Also, as bad as MD played, they’re down 13 and there was that TD run where he may have stepped OOB, but they let the play stand. There wasn’t a good angle, so hard to say for sure either way, but it’s annoying how every close call in this conference goes the other teams way. Maybe we will get some calls vs. UCLA and USC.

To be fair, I don’t see how the refs could’ve over turned that one. But it’s just a rant. Seems like we never get those breaks once conference play gets going.

Maryland’s defense played well today, especially considering how much they were on the field. If you’re looking for a silver lining, there’s one.

Maybe they need to stop recruiting these skill position kids from Florida and Hawaii, because they clearly can't execute in less than picture perfect weather conditions. The long-range weather forecast for State College is calling for partly cloudy and 45 degrees next Sat. The chilly temp is sub-optimal, but at least no icky rain.

Locksley says that WR Rakim Jarrett suffered a lower leg injury in this game. Have to hope it’s nothing serious.

I missed yesterday's game, and gave up on the DVR mid 3 Q.  The conditions were clearly bad, but Maryland's offense never showed up.  Everytime they have a chance to step up and make a statement for the program they fail miserably.

 

The good news.  Locks is sure to win a Sportsmanship award.  Brilliant coaching calling a TO as the Wisconsin FG team was racing on the field with the clock running down in Q2 and the Badgers out of TO's.  Locks is a visionary.
