That call for unsportsmanlike conduct is ridiculous. He didn't taunt the opponent, he just celebrated by doing a cartwheel! That's just so against the spirit of the rule. Awful.

Whew! Needed that win. Edwards is a viable backup... which is sorely needed. He'll need to improve his passing, but he's not a slouch.

No. Edwards was pretty damn good IMO. The Oline forgot how to block, coaches weren’t at all prepared in the first half. Got it together in the 2nd half. Good win. Edwards is a very solid option.
Without seeing the game, was the fact they almost lost to a 1-6 team because Taulia was out?

That, and the defense wasn't all that great against a NW offense that is pretty terrible. They could not get off the field on 3rd down (NW converted 9 of 14) and once again the secondary had plenty of PI calls that handed them easy yards. But they did get two key interceptions....the one on the first possession of the 2nd half was really huge, and really seemed to swing the momentum.

Edwards got better as the game went on. He missed some open receivers badly early on, especially that overthrow (I think it was to Felton) that should have been a TD.

They didn’t run him on option plays enough early on. That seems to really help him get into a rhythm.

Just a reminder that he was ranked as the #130 RB in the country out of high school and Maryland’s second-lowest ranked recruit in their 2021 class. Kudos to Elijah Brooks for scouting him and getting him to College Park.

Thanks for the recruiting context, good to know. He certainly wasn’t on my radar, at all, coming into the year.
