With the rain continuing today and Toronto having clinched the top AL wildcard spot (thanks to a Seattle loss to Detroit on Monday), tonight's game has about all of the significance of an Elk's Lodge meeting. Should said game be called, I don't think it will be made up.

If they play, Toronto's only objective will be to have their key pitchers lined up for the playoffs.

If they play, Toronto's only objective will be to have their key pitchers lined up for the playoffs.
With the way it's raining right now, I'd say Toronto will have an extra day to line up their playoff pitching. Hell, they might bring back Dave Stieb to pitch tomorrow's finale.

Yep, it is pouring, and I suspect the umps don’t feel like standing in the rain. I believe they have the final say, given this is the last series of the year, and obviously the last time Toronto comes in.

This actually is worse for Toronto trying to set up the rotation than if they just played tonight and tomorrow......BWAHAHAHA

They won't let that happen. I'd bet that in Game 2 at least, Toronto will field a lineup that would rival that of their early expansion days. And if they have to, they'll make like Seattle did on Tuesday, which was using a catcher to pitch the 10th inning in the first game of a doubleheader.
