I guess we'll see how much Dobbins' injury from last preseason impacts Harbaugh strategy. I can't imagine many, if any 1st stringers see significant playing time tonight or at any point this preseason.
I think it effects him a lot. Especially being in a Superbowl window. Can't afford to lose 2 years to injuries, with a team with this much talent across the board.
To be honest, I think the Eagles set a precedent last offseason. Siriani barely played any of his established starters, or main back-ups in pre-season games. He used joint practices to get reps in specific situations for his starters. He was pretty heavily criticized locally for being too soft through training camp and pre-season. Then the Eagles had one of the healthier rosters throughout the season, and looked fresh going down the stretch.
Honestly, Outside of maybe a series to get their feet wet. I'm not really sure it's important at all to get established starters many reps at all in preseason games. Use it to get good looks at your main position battles, and your younger unknown guys.
But guys like Dobbins, Humphrey, Jackson, Peters ect. have no business being exposed to unnecessary damage. Especially when you know you have hungry kids out there trying to make a name for themselves and show up on tape.

I'm sure no one of importance except perhaps rookies and special teamers play much this preseason, unless they have to because there simply isn't enough depth at the position (the lines especially, and some WR and DB). I think they've been pretty clear that their entire goal for camp this year is: get to week 1 healthy.

Ty Wallace knee. Not sure how serious.
Harbs said it was a minor sprain.

They played very few of the players who might be considered starters.
Pierce played 2 series, Oweh 1 series. I can not think of anyone else.
From a backup perspective, James, Stone, Harrison, Davis etc. played some.

I thought Geno Stone really flashed. He seemed to be all over the place making plays.

Likely with a smooth 4 for 44 - but missed the game, I take it he looked the part?
