Gotta keep at least an eye on the Red Sox as well. After taking two of three from the Yankees this past weekend, they're only four and a half games back for that final wildcard.

Only the Mariners game remaining - they’re leading the Angels 2-1 in the 4th.
As it stands at the moment, the Jays, Rays and M’s are tied for the 3 WC’s, and the O’s 1.5 behind all 3.
The O’s are .5 ahead of the White Sox and Twins, and 3.5 ahead of Boston since mdrunning requested we keep an eye on them too.

I went back and looked again. Gotta be a mistake. Several of those numbers are way off. Definitely preseason numbers.

According to ESPN the Orioles have the worst chance in the AL to make the playoffs. How is that possible? Worse than the A's, Detroit, KC and Boston. Absolutely crazy.

One thing working in the Orioles' favor is that, after this Toronto series, they will play 27 of their last 45 games at home. I don't know if any of the other teams still in the hunt have such an imbalance heading down the stretch.

Yea you’re definitely not looking in the right place.

I looked at that too. From Sept. 1 on they have 20 games at home and 13 on the road. That's a huge advantage for a team with one of the better home records in the AL. As long as they continue to hold their own against the Blue Jays they are gonna be right in the thick of it.
The O's are 32-18 in their last 50 games. I think 86 wins might be good enough for the 3rd wildcard.

Those are preseason odds they have posted. They need to hit the recalculate button.

The Yankees suck.
You’re not wrong. They’re in a brutal stretch of playing very subpar baseball.

I hate the Yankees.
I'm really not a fan of them either to be honest with you. Guess who won't be getting a Christmas Card from me!

They're fighting their way back into the division race.

I mean if someone gets back to within 5 games or so of them in the next 3 weeks...could get very interesting in NY.

The Rays have 8 games left with them and Toronto 7, both 10 games out. If one of them can come close to sweeping that gets really interesting.

They’ve been fighting their way back into the division race since the beginning of July. Pretty sure I read where they’re in last place in the ALE since that time (BAL being in first). The underreported story is that the rest of the ALE (obviously, outside of BAL) hasn’t been particularly good at all over that timeframe.

Tampa has all kinds of injuries, and Toronto is a mystery IMO. They should be much better than they are.

Orioles need to start another little run....they'll eventually have to play with some pressure, but they are still the outsider right now....put some wins together and make people watch you.
You can't get satisfied in perspective. Where Buck and Adam were more successful than any Leadership team in the last 25+ years of the Orioles is they focused on the next game. Grind It Out (I think) was the theme one year...you earn it.
You aren't good because you have the best record since July 1...you're good because you Find A Way to win the next Game. Every night.
