We're actually getting some of the help we would've needed. Not from the Jays, though, so maybe moot. Well, definitely moot since we can't beat the Tigers. But Rays and Mariners at 66 losses. Orioles would've been only at 69 had we won the past two games. Alas.
I really don't wanna collapse and not even get to 80+ wins. Find a way to at least limp to that finish line.

5-10 is worse than limping, IMO. Gotta go 5-10 the rest of the way to get to 500. That's still worse than limping, I'd like to see them do a few games better.

At this point the season is over for the playoffs. I care more about seeing them rebound and finish on a good note. Don't have to go 10-5 but something like 9-6 would be nice. End on a positive to give them the hunger this winter. I worry if they continue with this collapse that it could have a negative affect on them next year.

I don't think that the record the next two weeks will have anything to do with next year's record. No way to prove or test that, just don't think that it will be a factor.

It won't be a popular opinion but I don't think a limp to the finish is the worst thing. Gives them something to fester on all winter and hopefully come out hungry in the spring - with some needed upgrades of course. Obviously I would have preferred the playoffs but I view things through a pretty binary lens as far as that goes, you either made the playoffs or you did not. Finishing with 84 wins vs. 79 doesn't really matter much to me.

You mean "couldn't sweep". The difference between being in this race and out of it could be viewed as the difference in losing ALL of the games to Detroit rather than winning ALL of them. If we were just 3-3 or something unfrustrating, we'd still be on the outside of the race. Not dead barring a miracle like we actually are, though.
