Akin in with a quick 7th. Let him finish and give the rest of the pen off.

2.5 games out. Watkins good again. Offense has their best performance in quite awhile.

Rangers could do us a solid a trade Martin Perez tomorrow.
There is baseball, and occasionally there are other things of note
"Now OPS sucks. Got it."
"Making his own olive brine is peak Mackus."
"I'm too hungover to watch a loss." - McNulty

This does not look like a team that is gutted by the loss of Mancini.
Probably rallying around their missing leader.
The wheels come off soon though.

Maybe. I don't think so though.

IF trading Trey is the reason the wheels fall off (which I don't think happens) then this team wasn't that good in the first place.

I am a big Trey fan, almost as much because how he conducts himself then his play. He is a very good player and equally as good as a team mate and person. That said, the team is not going to fall apart because he was traded, if it falters and I think it likely will it is because the pitching falters.
Good thing Elias got pitching that can help.

If the wheels come off its because the pitching falls apart . Because the BP is being overworked. Not because Trey was traded.
Agree. This trade may be the inflection point of where things go south, but it wouldn't be the root cause. I do think it can lessen the resistance to such a change of fortune though. Trey being traded makes it a little bit easier for all the players to check out if things start going south. Both because of the lost leadership that we assume he provides (and seems supported by comments from players) and because of the general knowledge that management isn't super invested in the team results for the remainder of the season.
