They hired Milwaukee assistant Darvin Ham. Tough gig to make your HC debut, when anything less than a title is a failure, despite a roster that is quickly aging with pieces that don't fit well, and pretty much no flexibility for change.

Does Darwin know the HC for the Lakers has to defer to Lebron?

I know there’s only 30 of these jobs in the whole world, but that’s one I’d be asking myself whether I really want to take. Not solely because of LeBron; star players carry a ton of leverage on every team. They just have all the look of a team whose best days are in the rear-view, and I don’t really see a path back for at least this next season, if not longer.

How do you pay a guy his age that kind of money? I get Jeannie has her daddy's money, but he scored 30 points a game and the team still missed the playoffs.

It is a package deal. For that money he plays, coaches and serves as the GM.

So does this decrease his odds of getting to play with Bronny?

The player option year would be Bronny's first potential year in the NBA. Bronny is a questionable prospect as is though.

When your dad is the GM it helps. Id bet heavily on it happening

He's still one of the very best players in the league. For how long that will last, we will see. I keep being early in predicting his demise.
He will be excellent this year when he plays. He looks leaner which I think will help. He's also motivated.
Biggest question will be how much rest does he need and how much rest can they give him...given their limitations?
If they can pull the trade with the Pacers; they'll look a lot better.

Considering what the Lakers are paying Westbrook this year, Lebron might be a steal.
