My thought is that Holldiay is going to struggle when he first comes up whether thats after 5 games in AAA or 15 games. So get his butt up here. Now if Alexander/Jackson are hitting then ok.

Judge returned after a month on the IL with no rehab stint last year. But that was late in the year and he's Aaron Judge so even if he lost 400 points of OPS due to rust he'd still be above league average. Holliday doesn't have that type of margin, to put it mildly.
I drafted Judge in fantasy this year so he's likely to lose 600 OPS points. Just look at last night. On pace for 600 strikeouts!

Yeah I'm with the majority here, no reason at all right now to rush Holliday. Use this as an opportunity to get him a full ST and get plenty of swings in.

Apparently he hurt the same hand on a swing tonight and left the game.

Didn't Corbin Carroll suffer a hamate injury around the same time and he's already back.
Yeah he’s also been amazing, so that’s annoying.
But Lindor also had it around the same time and has been awful.

I've heard of people having sapped power for a while upon their return but I don't recall hearing about any reinjuries. It's kind of crazy how bad the results have been for injury recoveries for the Orioles. Hard not to wonder if it's anything to do with their rehab practices.
Luckily Holliday didn't have power to begin with.

Here's the video of Jackson's at bat.
He quickly recoils in pain after the swing

Lost season for Holliday. Another bust who should have been traded.

Or any idea how to play a defensive position.

Was looking for a history on if anyone had this sort of recurrence of the injury in their recovery from hamate bone removal, because I didn't recall anyone struggling with that.
Mike Trout had a similar setback a few years ago.
He broke the bone in July of 2023 and returned 7 weeks later. He played in one full game after which he was shut down due to the continued discomfort. He did not return over the final 6 weeks of the season, though I don't know if he really needed to miss all that time or they just made it season-ending because there wasn't much purpose in attempting to return for the final week or weeks.

Markakis came back ok, but never hit the same power wise.

The fact that Holliday is having setbacks is concerning. Forget about how it effects his production, he need to be on the field first.
