I know some of you are old enough to remember the ‘83 ALCS when LaRussa tried to start a beanball war. With the series tied at 1 apiece, Flanny hit Kittle with a pitch. LaRussa being LaRussa then had Rich Dotson hit Cal in the next half inning. He followed that up by throwing one inside to Eddie. I loved Eddie’s reaction - he pointed the bat at Dotson and made it very clear that was enough of that. Dotson eventually walked Eddie and then Brother Low drove them both in with a double. The Orioles went on to win 11 to 1. Then the shot heard from Chicago to Baltimore (the Tito HR) decided the next game and closed out the series. From the Eddie moment on, the Orioles out scored the Sox 10-0.
Good Memory. Tito was acquired the last day a trade could be made for Floyd Rayford with PTBNL on both sides. Landrum hit one of the biggest HR’s in Oriole history. AST the end of the year Tito was traded back to the Cardinals. Yep for Floyd Rayford, The White Sox almost won the game in the 9th but the CWS third base coach stopped a runner at 3rd but the trail runner kept going to 3rd, After a run down the runner tried to barrel over Rick Dempsey, but Demper held on and the Orioles and Tippy Martinez got out of the inning.
The third base coach who stopped the runner went on to do well as a manager….Jim Leyland.

A very little thing but something I notice in that I absolutely love about Adley! Every time a pitcher gets out of the inning he greets him with a hug and a great job or something on the way the dog out. That’s awesome!
Very refreshing to see things like that. Enthusiasm is contagious.
