Just another dime-a-dozen TB pitcher with a 1.45 ERA and a 9 K/9!
But it's all good because Bradish has a 9 K/9 too! And an ERA approaching 7.00!

Tampa Bay is probably the best in the league at identifying how to get the most out of pitchers whether it be pitch mix, usage, what have you. Springs is yet another example of that. They’ve also built up that depth which makes it a little easier (buy no less impressive) to not have to extend guys past their ideal role very much.

They’re also very unconventional in terms of how they build guys up to become starters. If you earn a starting role, great. But they aren’t going to throw you out there to start games until you’re ready. Every year they have guys end the year in the rotation, that started in the bullpen. Not sure who or what you’re arguing against but go off.

Honestly, I would’ve liked to hear the O’s player development team was working on Bradish on corners control BEFORE he got the call. But maybe they were. Hard to say. But the Rays approach seems to be to find a small window of what works (even if it means facing just one batter or pitching just an inning) and then building that up from there.

If you compare any teams pitching development against Tampa’s that’s team is going to finish a distant second. I really don’t care, about Tampa’s pitching other than the fact, we need to compete against it.
I think Bradish has a chance to develop into a good starter, but IMO, he right now is not in the class of a Baz or Mclanahan. I don’t care, I just want to give our guys a chance to grow up. We should not be writing off any young starter. Let them have time and then see where they are.
The Orioles are making progress. It is a shame Means and GRod got hurt. Our rotation would look a lot different with them in there.
