Jorge, takes the heart of the Jays lineup and the Good Guys actually beat the Blue Jays.

Lopez is our All Star this year. Hays and Trey have been good but Lopez is most deserving. If things were decided today of course.

We actually have 3 players deserving. That in itself is amazing.

Orioles are 7-1 in games following a loss of 5 runs or more.
Kind of a bad news-good news thing. They do battle.

With the rotation the Orioles have and with the teams they play in the AL East, it is hard to see them winning more than 3 or 4 in a row.

that bare handed grab by Mateo was fun to watch.

That's Lopez' 3rd multi-inning, 1-run save plus he's had 2 multi-inning wins (entered with game tied).
Those are seriously impressive outings. Saves are overrated when you've got a 2- or 3-run lead, but 1-run saves are challenging and multi-inning saves are also a big deal.

No matter what we use to judge Lopez, the plain and simple fact is, he has been terrific.

Zack Britton had 1 multi-inning-1-run save and 1 multi-inning win in the entirety of 2016, just as a point of comparison to perhaps the best relief pitching season of all time. Britton had 7 multi-inning appearances of any type, Lopez already has 9 this year.
I agree with 2035 earlier who said that Lopez is the All-Star. He's not the team MVP, but he'll be the selection because he'll help the All-Star team the most. 12 guys currently have 5+ saves in the AL. Lopez is T-9th with 9 saves, but #1 in IP and #2 in ERA amongst that group.

Lopez has jumped to 13th in WPA among relievers.
Bautista is 15th.
Perez is 22nd.
Tate is 24th.
Akin is 26th.

IDK. General consensus is probably that the line would be set at 2.
I'll take 0.

Exactly. The biggest reason why he leads my list for Os ASThat's Lopez' 3rd multi-inning, 1-run save plus he's had 2 multi-inning wins (entered with game tied).

Maybe Tate but all team controlled for multiple years. All have good to great stuff. Os will be making more of a push to compete next year. Dont expect any of them to be traded.
