Dear Apple TV,

I thought when I left Baltimore I wouldn’t have to hear Melanie Newman anymore.

Despite the score, just unwatchable. She didn’t know everyone advances just two bases on a ground rule double.

Whelp, Bradish has got some adversity to overcome. Another couple starts like that, and he’s got job security concerns. Hopefully he can buckle down and make some adjustments. Non-verbals were not good tonight, understandably so.

This was his first out and out bad start IMO. Velo was down a tick and he kept missing middle of plate whenever he did throw a strike. Tough environment against one of the hottest offenses in baseball. Hopefully he comes out and alleviates some concerns next time out.

Retired the side in the 6th with 2 more Ks. Got a 1-hit shutout going.

 

Up to 77 pitches. We'll see if they leave him in to hit the magic number 95, a bar apparently only he must clear to be deemed ML-worthy.

That part was bad, as was the during-action interview with Cedric. Super awkward. But her pure PBP has gotten a LOT better IMO.

Yeah, she’s gotten a little personality. It sounded like NPR when she was on a year or two back.

Also the first game I’ve watched on Apple. That probability graphic is unique. it’s subtle and not distracting.

She's so, so bad and emotionless. What enthusiasm she tries to inject time to time just comes across as faked and forced. But I'm sure she's working cheap, which works well for the warehouse bean counters...

I'm not 100% clear on how it works, but I think that she's on either Apple's or MLB Network's payroll for this game. Still, that she drew this particular game (the O's first appearance on AppleTV+) sure pours salt in the wound of suffering O's fans.

Newman is awful #1. She called a ground out to first a ground out to third. #2 you’d think she’s a NESN employee. Super excited to talk about Boston. Reminds me of Gary Thorne.
