By the way, that wasn't a great pickoff throw, but Pujols looked like an old man trying to reach down to catch it and then make the throw.

Baseball wise he is an old man.   Father time is undefeated.

Bannon has made some nice plays today.  He started a big DP to help Perez.

Which helped a lot because Perez just gave up a missle.

Mateo's speed getting to a blooper ends the game, and the Good Guys win.

Helped by dumb baserunning by the Cardinals.

And man I really really like what Mateo is bringing to this club! He’s been quite a pleasant suprise!

Also, I have a rookie card of his autographed found in my first box this season! So that’s cool!

Can someone explain how this game ended for people on gameday?

Multi-inning, one-run save is big boy stuff.

Mateo made a very good running catch on a ball in shallow center and the Idiot on first base was on his way to 3rd.

DP and the O's win.

Pop up looked like it might fall in between CF and SS but Mateo got to it and the Cardinals runner misjudged it, easily doubled up.

I really did not think, he was going to be able to handle SS defensively.  IMO he has been really good and getting better daily.  His speed shows up in so many ways.

Was at the game today. Cool side note, the PA announcer noted it was Bannon making his major league debut, which got a nice golf clap from the Cardinals fans. Classy. Maybe if it were the Cubs, not so much, but still. Good baseball town here, important day in a ball players life doesn’t go unnoticed.

Another Series win.

Onto Detroit to face the struggling Tigers.
