They should have let Watkins go be a baseball coach. That’s where he’ll be in a few months anyway.

I think one of the benefits to the Orioles spending less than zero energy trying to staff the major league team the last 3 or 4 years is that guys who hung in and got paid pennies in the minor leagues, like watkins got a chance to realize their dreams and for a short time make major league money, that helps them down the road.  Yes, Watkins is a placeholder and got his butt kicked last night, but good for him, he is pitching in the major leagues.
