Couple impacts tonight.  Santander dumped one into LF that would have been an out last year.

Well, to me, we have seen enough examples of the wall having an impact that I think its real and not just some sss stuff.

Chirinos also smoked a 370 feet bomb to left that was a routine fly ball out.

Last night was a fun game.  I would have liked to see Bradish do better, but it was nice to see the Orioles score some runs.

Mancini got some much needed good luck.

Mullins seems to be finding his way he is using the middle of the field more now.

Hays and Santander continue to contribute.

I am not a big fan of either Mateo or Odor, but they turn double plays.  Odor gets rid of the ball lightning quick at second base.

The Orioles hit last night but the 5 DP's won the game.

I like Mateo and thought he could be a solid IF guy but his bat needs to come around and fast, he's probably the first guy to go when someone gets called up.

I never had friends later on like the ones I had when I was twelve. Jesus, does anyone?

He’s definitely not the first guy to go. Owings and Odor are ahead of him on the chopping block, they probably send Nevin back down before losing Mateo as well.

The problem for Mateo isn't that he's necessarily the worst guy on the infield depth chart, but that the things we've seen from him are exactly what was described of him when we acquired him.  When you continually see the same things without many signs of improvement, it makes you think that the initial assessment that he isn't good enough to help a team is likely to be the right answer.

He's terrible at literally everything that doesn't involve being fast.  He is great on the bases and has good range at SS.  But he can't do anything else offensively - can't hit for average, can't draw a walk, can't hit for any power - and he isn't consistently good at fielding the routine balls at SS.

He'll have another two months probably before anyone really pushes for infield time, but its getting to the point where you've got a lot of confidence in the scouting report, and that's not good for him.

Oh the scouting report is definitely accurate. But his speed alone is worth keeping around as the 26th man while he’s cheap. He is slightly above average in average exit velocity and has an expected batting average of .276 so a little unlucky but regardless I don’t see him being pushed off the roster this year.

Mateo has been better than I thought he would be.  He  makes some highlight plays but he as also made some errors that shouldn't happen.  His swing gets real long at times and he swings for the fences.  If he shortened his swing and used his speed more, his numbers might go up.

I am not sure why Owings is on the team.  I am not sure Hyde knows either.
