And...why have a lead if you can just give it up the next inning? LOL!

There is baseball, and occasionally there are other things of note
"Now OPS sucks. Got it."
"Making his own olive brine is peak Mackus."
"I'm too hungover to watch a loss." - McNulty

Seems like a guy that gets extremely hot, and can go cold too.
My guy Hays has that as well.

Starting to think our best offensive players are better suited for 4th OF / bench roles.
Solid players but not MLB level all-star caliber starters.
If the O's are going to be competitive again they're going to need to be aggressive in FA to add the key players we need. Outside of Rutschman and GRod I don't see anyone being that guy and those players aren't guaranteed AS players when they reach the MLB either.

I am not ready to judge guys like Mountcastle, Hays, Mancini, etc. on just 23 games. Offense is down drastically throughout baseball and the wall is playing a factor at the home games. Let's see how the hitting is when the temperature is in the 90's.

Mountcastle settled in in mid May last year. I think he is a good player and I think he will get it going.. I think if Hays, Mountcastle, and others are as someone mentioned "nothing special" then we have real problems. Not all these kids we are waiting on are going to be stars.

I'm not judging them either. Just have some lowered expectations based on what I've seen from them going back to last year. Even if they hit their expected ceilings the Orioles still need FA to round out the offense. They're not going to be able to build a contending team only through the draft and a fetus-level international system.

I should have said they can be starters, just not likely the star players on a contending team.

I agree with that.
