His arrest included a charge for "impeding breath circulation"...that doesn't sound good.

Yeah, apparently he was strangling his fiancé. Sounds like he’s being released on bond, with a two month protection order to stay away from her.

Texas head coach Chris Beard was arrested early this morning and charged with third-degree assault against a family member.

Not a great look at all for a guy trying to reestablish and sell Texas' brand and culture. Especially with the new arena also. It was just announced will be be suspended indefinitely.

Looking forward to watching Creighton tonight against Arizona State. Jays have lost 4 straight and have disappointed relative to expectations prior to the season starting. Although they didn't have Ryan Kalkbrunner who makes a massive difference, that BYU game is not one you want to loose. Arizona State has gotten off to a really good start but a win tonight even against a struggling Creighton team would show me a lot.

Texas needed OT to get past the #205 KenPom team in the country tonight. If Rice had suited up their baseball team, they might have pulled it off.

Looks like the team was obvious distracted given the news. That couldn’t have been easy just hours after all of this breaking. Texas were 24.5 point favorites.

Son just beat father as Richard’s Pitino’s New Mexico Lobo’s improve to 11-0 with a win over Iona. Fun game.

A sleeper team in College Basketball that is not getting enough credit right now is TCU. After loosing to Northwestern State and barely getting by Pine Bluff in November, Jaime Dixon's team has now won 8 games in a row and is starting to look like the team we expected in the preseason that almost knocked Arizona out of the NCAA Tournament last season. Look out.

Lobos are the real deal. Team with high major talent that will do damage in the Mountain West.

This is good stuff. Agree with each of your takes here. I still think Auburn can get hot. How about the year fans of TCU athletics are having?

Saw last night a preview of what a lot of games in the SEC are going to look like this season. Just some insane defenses that teams are really going to have trouble scoring on moving forward. Was impressed with Alabama and Missouri showing up and making statements in their conference openers, but the struggles for Kentucky are seriously real.

I was being very disrespectful of Mizzou due to their SOS, and they will struggle some when they don't shoot as well as last night, but that's a solid club. Kentucky feels like they've missed the boat a bit - too big, too lanky, too dependent on post play - wake up and smell the coffee, Cal. Alabama's defense just absolutely suffocated Miss. St. last night, that was fun to watch. Nate Oats brought the brilliant strategy to bang 'em up early and often... Mississippi St. were 18/36 from the free throw line last night. They lost by 11.
