LOL if he isn't banned then it's a joke.

Will needs to re-apply for admittance.

Period.

Otherwise, let's have gunplay!

New claims that LAPD was ready to arrest Will Smith right there in the audience, but Chris didnt want to press charges.

The LAPD was standing by and ready to arrest Will Smith for putting hands on Chris Rock

at The Oscars -- but Chris waved them off, saying he was fine -- according to the show's producer.

In a preview clip for his interview with 'GMA,' Oscars' honcho Will Packer says LAPD officers were ready to arrest Will if Chris so wanted, detailing the conversation that happened backstage directly following the slap.

THIS right here is about the sum of things. All these other groups and people need to get out their feelings and move on. The real world, you run your mouth to the wrong person, you're probably going to get punched in the face. The flip side of that is then, the risk you run hitting someone is it is assault and you could get arrested for it.

I think Rock realized and felt like he had SOME blame in the situation for making a joke maybe he shouldn't have (no idea if he knew about her condition or not) Guessing he didn't and just said oh, man, did I go too far, what did I step in? But either way he didn't feel it was bad enough to have him arrested over, and life moves on.

Sure, ban him FROM ATTENDING award shows for a year or something. Don't strip his ability to work or be acknowledged for it, but take away the being in public cause he can't act right part, that's fair. And probably where things should end.

Ten years seems like an excessive punishment.
