Hey everyone,

I'm interested to hear your QB rankings for the AFC.

I'm hard pressed to think of more starting talent at the position across an entire conference (with a couple exceptions) in league history.

I'll be releasing my rankings later this week but would love to hear your personal rankings.

I can agree with most of that Mike.

I would have Carr above Tua and Tannehill.

Some will have Herbert 3.

Many will have Jackson 5th or 6th.

I know it’s a team game, but Carr just isn’t a winner. I thought last year Tua was gonna surprise people. Unfortunately he had a wrist injury and only got a little more than half a season in, and played really well. I still believe he’s underrated.

Having Herbert at 3 means you care only about arm talent. Not saying “you”, just people. What’s he accomplished? I mean, dude laid an egg against a bad Ravens defense last season. His arm strength is fantastic. The end of that Raiders game to end the season he was on point. He just hasn’t accomplished as much yet.

A couple of things.....

I will admit I give much more weight to passing ability over running ability when judging a QB.  I give respect to running ability, but I've seen good passers who were statues in the pocket get their teams to Super Bowls.  I have never seen a great running QB who was only average throwing the ball even come close.

DeShaun Watson was tough to judge.  He hasn't played since 2020.

The AFC is sick with good QB's.  The only QB's from the NFC that I would have cracking the top 6 would be Rogers and Brady.   I would strongly consider Stafford, and maybe consider Murray and Prescott, but not sure I would put either of them ahead of the AFC top 6.

In that list I could make a case for everyone in the top 11 to take their team to a SB if enough things went right with their team.  I don't think I can remember a conference being this loaded ever before.

The fact that two QBs among the likes of Russell Wilson, Justin Herbert, Lamar Jackson, Deshaun Watson or Joe Burrow have to rank outside of the Top 5 in a single conference is bonkers.
