Chemical weapons are the biggest concern right now.

Yup.

Bombing campaigns are really the only thing Russia has right now. Not to belittle the damage and horror they're inflicting on civilians, but their military operations have been a widespread disaster.

He’s a lunatic and anything is possible but I’d still be shocked if he decided to use nukes against Ukraine. Kyiv is one of the most important cities in Russian history, not just for the country but for the ethnic Russians. The article I posted goes into it at depth. It would be akin to Muslims nuking Jerusalem in order to take back Palestine.

It's pretty much all over if he uses nukes. I have to believe that he realizes this and doesn't take that step. I could see him using chemical weapons since his forces are bogged down.

Business Insider: UK spy chief says "deeply secret intelligence" is being released at an unprecedented rate to stay one step ahead of Putin

It probably only seems like our intel has been more spot-on than usual, because in the past it just hasn't been as publicly disseminated. I think it's a smart move too....since just about every western country is feeling the impact of this in some way, you want to make sure your citizens know the truth about what is happening (and going to happen) in Ukraine as we deal with the fallout of sanctions on Russia. Like the UK intel boss in the article says, "intelligence is only worth collecting if we use it."

It bothers me greatly that the ruble is now back to pre-invasion value.

That's because the Russian Central Bank went to great measures to prop it up. But it's a house of cards and can't last. Big thing is for those still buying Russian gas to tell Putin to go eff himself when he says they have to pay in rubles.

The deadline Putin imposed for that was today, but I haven’t heard the outcome on that. Hopefully what you said is what they did. But Europe is getting crushed by their energy crisis right now.

The Moscow Times reporting Putin may have been dealing with thyroid cancer, and a relapse from 2016-2019 (and maybe still).

I think it’s time to get involved militarily. Feels like delaying the inevitable at this point.

Lol, he's very clearly talking about Brittney Griner being released from Russian prison being a good moment.

You disagree with that?

Now you can talk about the trade (maybe, not sure Chris wants that), but this wasn't a great way to respond to Ricker's post.

Point taken.

I clearly believe whom they released from Jail to do the swap, was somebody best left in jail.

I think Griner was dealt harshly, while she was knowingly caught with illegal substances. Russia knew this and played the US well.

How about arms dealer and dead people?

Would you be asking this question if it were your daughter who we were bringing home? Or would the fact that she had a vape pen with a substance that grows from the earth have made you okay with her rotting away in a Russian penal colony?

I certainly celebrate for her, that is good news.

Was her arrest/treatment atypical from a Russian standpoint, or are there other Americans that aren't celebrities that are still over there?
