If fully healthy, is JK Dobbins a 1st rounder?

How high does Lamar go? What about Mark Andrews?

I personally think they all go in the Top 25, especially in ppr leagues.

Assuming both are healthy for the entire year, which player will score more points: Lamar or J.K. Dobbins?

Lamar without question.  QBs always score more points than RBs.

Lamar had more points in 2021 than every running back but Jonathan Taylor in my league last season.  Maybe a handful more RBs surpassed him depending on your scoring system.  Raw points between QB and RB is a tough comparison.  I think Dobbins should be drafted higher, but he won't outscore Lamar.

QB's do score more than RB's, but in most leagues you start 2 RB's to 1 QB.  Plus, there are fewer top level point scoring RB's than QB's that can put points on the board.  The drop off from good RB's is much quicker and much steeper than the drop off from decent QB's.

In my 10 team standard scoring league, Lamar Jackson was picked in the first round, pick 8.  That team finished 10 out of 10 in the standings.  The year before Lamar Jackson was the 2nd overall pick in the league.  That team finished 9th overall.

Before last year, I had a three year run of getting to our championship, winning two.  In 2018 I waited until the 4th round to pick a 2nd year QB with only one start and take a chance.  That was Patrick Mahomes and I won the championship.  In 2019 I somehow managed to get to the championship with a QB rotation of Andy Dalton, Sam Darnold, Matthew Stafford, and Drew Lock as a rookie.  But I also had Zeke Elliott and a Steeler defense that outscored every other defense by a lot.  In 2020 I won the championsip again with Kyler Murray as my QB drafted in the 3rd round 27th pick.  By the time the championship came around, Murray was hurt and my backup Kirk Cousins won the game.  And, by the way, I was able to draft Dalvin Cook and Nick Chub with my first two picks.

Last year the team that won it all drafted Jonathon Taylor at 9 overall and Najee Harris at 12.  His QB was Dak Prescott drafted in the 4th round with the 32nd pick.

Bottom line.....I would place a higher premium on Running backs in the first two rounds than a QB.  History in our league does not favor those who draft a QB with their first round pick.  I think a lot of people will have a wait and see attitude with Dobbins because of his injury, but I would still pick him over Lamar Jackson.

As for Andrews, only Kelce has been picked in the first three rounds of our league.  Kelce went #27 last year.   Andrews was #48.  I suspect Andrews will go closer to Kelce this year, but picking a TE in the top 25 I doubt.

Good point. At his ceiling I think Dobbins can contend for 300 points.

I project Dobbins to be the 9th RB drafted and score 202 points this season. What about you? Don't forget, we're in 17 game seasons now.

Just had my draft Sunday. Let me know your thoughts:

5th pick

12 team league

Standard scoring (non-PPR)

1st 3 picks:

Justin Jefferson

Nick Chubb

Tyreek Hill

Also, someone took Justin Tucker at 41 overall

If fully healthy, is JK Dobbins a 1st rounder?
