The one thing that stands out to me when we discuss prospects, specifically pitching prospects, is the reluctance to take pitchers higher in the draft. it is my big concern about this process, If you can not pitch, you can not win.
I understand there are other ways to get pitchers, and that may define success of this rebuild.

The one thing that stands out to me when we discuss prospects, specifically pitching prospects, is the reluctance to take pitchers higher in the draft. it is my big concern about this process, If you can not pitch, you can not win.
I understand there are other ways to get pitchers, and that may define success of this rebuild.
There are some intriguing up and coming pitchers in the low levels, but they are extremely young and high-risk guys. And with this year's draft class appearing to be loaded with hitting talent and lacking in quality pitching (and the top guys already going down with tommy john) I expect the Orioles to stick to their strategy of grabbing Carlos Tavera type pitchers later in the draft.
Have to imagine they start unloading some of this middle infield/OF depth they have been accumulating recently for some pitching to pair with Means/Rodriguez in a real rotation.

They are clearly sticking to their beliefs which I fully support. My concern is lack of top quality arms. They will need to trade well to add pitching.
