Kevin Lynch (SouthBaltimore.com) provided these pictures in this 'photo-tour' article a couple days ago.

I think the height of the wall is going to take more home runs away than the added distance.

I don't like the centerfield jut out, but everything else looks okay.

We know the Mancini hit was a different outcome.  How many other balls had a different outcome because of the LF changes?

I'm at a disadvantage right now because I can't watch the games and it's annoying to try to go back and figure out every hit to LF (not all of them have tape).  It's why I've suggested we have a "Impact of the LF Wall thread in the Games section and log things we think are impacted in real time.  It's a little hard to track actual impact over a long season.

Twitter.com will let you know any time the wall has an impact

I thought that Mountcastle's single to lead off the 8th yesterday might have been caught if the LF'er had been playing shallower.

Mountcastle with the first HR over it and I think it was Xander Bogaerts who had the first ball die on the warning track

That was the first hit that would've been a homer

Alex Cora:

“One of the best moments I ever had here was Manny [Ramirez] making that catch [in 2008], high-fiving that fan, and then throwing to first base to get the double play,” Cora said. “Now you can’t do it. One of the beauties of this stadium was always the chance for the outfielders to rob homers because it’s a small wall. Now it’s going to be kind of hard. It’s different.”

Bunch of entitled cry babies. Because we can high-five fans in LF at Fenway? That is such an enjoyable article to read. JD Martinez is hella bitter, they all are. That’s classic. Taking their series loss like the classless chumps they are.

I hope they hit 9 warning track outs next time they’re here

Less than a month so the park effects mean absolutely nothing, but because its fun...

53 runs in 9 home games

111 runs in 13 road games

5.89 / 8.54 = 69 park effect for runs

100 is neutral.

Camden Yards is the 2nd lowest run environment in MLB so far.  Nationals Park is the lowest.  So maybe its a geographic thing.  All the damn pollen in the air is preventing the ball from maintaining its initial velocity!

I know youre joking but I have seen numerous balls hit that I thought were going further off the bat. Maybe the ball is different again this year and thats making a difference.

Humidor in every stadium supposed to have some impact.

Plenty of hitters are besides themselves, convinced that the balls being used are different and have little to no carry to them. There's probably some truth to it or so many wouldn't be voicing their displeasure. Still, the weather has been damn cold for most of the Country and I think that affects the carry dramatically, including Camden Yards. A truer test will be when the summer heat finally arrives for good.

Did just see that MLB hitters had the lowest SLG month since 1992. Theyll be changing those balls or doing away with the humidor soon enough.

And still on pace for 103 losses. Imagine if they tried a tiny bit to field an actual team.
