Dabo Swinney finally relented and brought in a player out of the transfer portal, former Northwestern QB Hunter Johnson. Though it should be noted that Johnson began his college career at....Clemson.

On the same day Georgia QB JT Daniels officially entered the transfer portal, Stetson Bennett announced he will return to play in 2022.

USC football fans’ long nightmare has ended, as Caleb Williams announced he’s headed to Troy to reunite with Lincoln Riley. As if he seriously would have gone to Wisconsin, a QB wasteland.

On the day he officially locked up the best recruiting class money ever bought, Jimbo Fisher goes on the defensive. Gotta love it, no one does absurdity better than college football.

As expected, Ja’Marr Chase and Micah Parsons won Offensive and Defensive Rookie of the Year, respectively. They share something else in common….neither played a snap of football in 2020.

How long until star college players sit out their entire third season without COVID as a reason?

CBSSports.com: College football defenses finally claw back as some offensive averages reach lowest points in a decade

The numbers confirm what I strongly suspected about the 2021 season and the resurgence of defense. I'm interested in seeing if this ends up being a one-off or the start of a trend.

So after hiring Art Briles as his offensive coordinator at Grambling State, Hue Jackson basically just admitted to tax evasion on Twitter.

Art Briles resigns before it gets started.  When a story involves you and Art Briles, and you're coming off looking worse of the two, that's not a good look.  Wonder if Hue ever coaches a game.

I thought I'd spend the offseason by launching a project examining ways to improve college football. I'm anticipating making this an ongoing series, Part 1 being the most obvious target...the college football postseason. I'll probably have 3-4 chapters on that alone, since it's such an extensive topic with several moving pieces. This first chapter looks at the multitude of factors that influence how the sport operates, and early history of how national champions were declared. Hope you find it interesting, and feedback is welcomed as always.

The second chapter takes us up to where we are at the present, and a quick look at the future of the postseason.

JT Daniels announced he’s transferring to WVU. That sets up an interesting Week 1 matchup. It will be the first Backyard Brawl (Pitt vs WVU) played since 2011, and may also feature two former USC QBs going head-to-head; Daniels and Kedon Slovis for Pitt.
