Because Stanley has played 7 games in 2 years, James has played 3 games in 3 years, and Mekari is just a guy.

Right.

Villenueva struggled mightily. I hope the Ravens pass on bringing him back.

You can certainly trace the team's offensive struggles ( including Lamar's) to the poor offensive line play.

Villanueva was horrible last year for Pittsburgh and I was really perplexed as to why the Ravens were even bothering. My guess is after they cut him, his NFL career may very well be over.

Yeah, I think Villanueva is done done. Maybe I'm wrong, but I've just sort of assumed that since about mid season so I haven't gotten too worked up about it. Been more worried that they'll give Phillips more rope just because he's younger. But he's so so so so slow. And I don't think moving him back inside to guard is much better. He was notably slow off the snap there last year too.

Which reminds me, not only did they have better tackles in 2019, they still had Yanda playing at a high level too. The 21 O line was about 1/4 of a shell of that group.

I'd suspect Villanueva is here in part because John likes veterans, and he fits two veteran categories...

Can we get a guard day 2? I'm not sold on Cleveland. He doesn't move very well...

Day one I'd be happy with DL, OT, or secondary help. I really hope we can get a safety or 2. I'd really like to use our 4th rounders to get another pick in the 2nd round.

Probably right. A right tackle would be nice. Are we keeping Zeitler?

But if the veteran stinks and will more than likely get your quarterback killed, what's the point? I guess they thought he would do better in Roman's system. They were wrong.

His salary is fully guaranteed.  So, yes.

I think the only way, AV is back is if #1 he still wants to play and #2 he is willing to play for significantly less.  The Ravens want and need the 6.5 M cap savings.

FWIW, every coach likes veterans.  They have the track record that makes it easier to anticipate what he will be getting.

I don't think Villanueva returns even if he's willing to cut his salary down to near the veteran's minimum.

Agree but I could see him on the PS as a vet. Finding someone with tackle length is difficult. Even at 34 and being washed up, I still think there’s value there.

Hilarious, considering how childishly immature you are on a daily basis.

Yeah if he wants to make $80k on the practice squad, that's fine.  Would still need to release him first.

14. Baltimore Ravens: David Ojabo, EDGE, Michigan

With aging veterans Justin Houston and Pernell McPhee hitting free agency and Tyus Bowser expected to miss significant time with an Achilles injury, the Ravens need a pass rusher. Like rookie Odafe Oweh, his former teammate at New Jersey’s Blair Academy, the 6-5, 250-pound Ojabo is a raw prospect with outstanding athleticism and speed. He racked up 11 sacks and a program-record five forced fumbles this season.
