College Park is in the heart of one of the most populated areas in the country.

For me — and again I’m not a football player — that’s a selling point versus spending 3 years in the middle of the mountains in central PA.

I guess I'd rather play in front of a rabid fan base of 100k plus fans in a rocking stadium for a relevant team.

The only reason I can see for rather playing at Maryland is if you want to play close to family and friends.

I think the pitch for local recruits would be "sure, the crowds are weaker but all of your family and friends don't need to drive into rural PA to see you play" and I'd assume that's effective enough for some people

Or you are next to DC and Baltimore.
Not everyone is headed to the NFL; there are jobs available in the market that MD can help with - before and after you graduate.

Trip to Arizona vs a big name program like that would be pretty cool.

I'm sure that's exactly what these HS recruits are dying to hear about.

I'm sure it's appealing for some.

End of the day every recruit is different and there's no one thing to sell them on.  You gotta know what will pull them in, and that's Locks' job.  Pedro prefers the more populated setting of College Park.  I'd prefer middle of nowhere any day.  But that's me.  Some kids want to stay close to home, some kids want to get away.  Some kids want to go to a program that wins, others would rather be a big fish in a small pond.  A good salesmen/recruiter knows how to spin the strengths.

It’s extremely appealing to parents, and they play a major role. I can’t tell you how many parents I’ve spoken to who love the options their kids have after they graduate and how well Locksley and the Athletic Department prepare them for that.

You think I’m bad you should go on Reddit!

Maryland co-offensive coordinator and tight ends coach Mike Miller is leaving to become the offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach at Charlotte. He’s been an extremely fast-rising coach, and is now poached by Biff Poggi.

I was hoping for a bit more there.  Thought if he came back he had a chance to be a big piece next year.
Oh well, good luck to him.

Figure he'll look better 4 months from now.  That much further away from the injury, more time to focus on just getting ready.
He never looked great this year, but I'd think he would get back to his preinjury self this coming year.

Is there gonna be anyone left to throw the ball to in that game? Better call Paul Johnson and see if he can install the triple-option in about two weeks of practices.
