nice article. My own music taste are way different, so my top 50 would be different.
Not that this is wrong and mine is right.
Its all perspective.
I will say, with the pipes on Whitney, how can she be anything less than #1.

No Lord of the Rings or Star Wars or any other movies with classical musical as their sound track on this list. Do they consider that a separate category?

Second, in the spirit of Saturday Night Fever, only pure soundtracks were permitted—no scores. A tough beat for John Williams, to be sure.

I feel like Vision Quest should have been on the list somewhere. High Fidelity, too.

Fair enough, it's their list and their website, but I would argue that a great musical score is more memorable than a sound track. Don't get me wrong many of those movies have great soundtracks but how many songs do you actually remember being on them?
